  • Here’s a little story about the Webster Percussion Theatre (WPT). It all started in 2011, and boy, what a journey it’s been! In our very first year, we shot up to 2nd place at the New York State Indoor Percussion Championships. Not bad for beginners, huh?

In our second season, we decided to shake things up a bit. We moved from being a standstill unit to a moving one, competing with seasoned teams that had been in this class for years. And guess what? We finished in fourth place!

Fast forward to 2014, and we were ready for a new challenge. We took on the Independent Class and ended up as champions of the NYSPC PIA-SS class. Awesome!

After a brief hiatus, we made a comeback in the 2017 New York State Percussion Circuit competitive season. Under the leadership of Jerbrel Bowens, the Percussion Caption Head of the Webster Marching Band, we competed in the NYSPC Percussion Independent A class (PIA) in the 2019 season and rose to 2nd place!

We’ve continued and in recent years were under the direction of Tyrell Carver, another Percussion Caption Head of the Webster Marching Band.

This year, we are led by Phil Vona.

So, stay tuned for more exciting updates from WPT! 🎵

  • The cost varies year to year. Joining the WPT is an investment in a rewarding musical experience! Each season, the cost includes everything you need to shine on stage: instruments, equipment, uniforms, and even a celebratory banquet at the end of the season. Plus, we have a variety of fun fundraisers where you and your family can get involved. So come be a part of our musical family, we can’t wait to welcome you! 🎶

Meet the 2024 WPT staff who help make this happen!
